2009 FP WEEK:
In recognition of FP Week, October 5-11, the Chapter sponsored several educational events aimed at helping individuals discover the value of financial planning. Through the local libraries and on radio stations across the Buffalo area, questions were answered on debt reduction, budgeting, wellness, surviving financial crisis, and answers to diverse and popular financial topics. We also partnered with Junior Achievement in helping high school students understand basic finance. We would like to recognize the volunteers who gave their time in getting the message out to the public.
Library presentations were given by: Larry Pignataro, Paul Podsiadlo, Christina Michalczak and Robert Romeo.
Behavioral finance presentations were done by Amy Jo Lauber and Dr. Elvira Aletta.
Michael Birenbach and Candace Kelley presented “Creating Harmony in Your Financial Life” at Buffalo State College.
Radio spots on October 3 and 10 included contributions from Amy Jo Lauber, Chris Gibas and Dirk Rabenold.
Junior Achievement efforts were coordinated by Deborah Stauring and Shannon Bloomquist from JA.
A special thank you to Chair of FP Week, Deborah Stauring, for her ideas, enthusiasm and commitment to pulling this together. We hope to build on her efforts and have even more activities and opportunities for 2010.
